Dancing in the Rain

Ben Mercer - "Dancing in the Rain", Newfoundland, Canada

Sunshine after a storm! This is that girl, dancing in the rain, shining as bright as her yellow raincoat!

Cuban Breeze

Sharon Leney -Varadero, Cuba

A warm ocean breeze tussles my hair, as we watch the last of the sun’s rays fade with the lowering of the evening sun.
The windswept clouds streak across the sky, as the sun kisses them from beneath.
The waves gently shift the sand as they make their way to shore, only to retreat back to whence they came.

The Contrast

Serge Calvé – Sylvan Lake, AB, Canada

Look at that blue sky, beautiful tranquillity overlooking the lake and very peaceful. The beautiful cloud formations, so majestic and strong and yet below them are the formations of something ominous symbolized by a rain storm and yet so beautiful in its way. A contrast between peace and storm and so often happens in our everyday lives. The strength of the rain shadows tells us of the mastery of nature. And it’s coming towards us – slowly. Beautiful.

Today's tools...

Jason Beisick - Red Deer, AB, Canada

We live in a great time right now. A time where no matter where we go, we have one of the best tools ever invented at our fingertips. No matter where we go, we always have a camera. Don't let nature's beauty escape when you have the tool to capture it!

Tropical Evening Descent

Tropical Evening Descent

Sharon Leney - Cuba

The scent of salt and seaweed mix with the fragrance of the aromatic blossoms, as the evening breeze gently rustling the palm leaves that traverses from ocean to land.

The yellow-orange reflection of the sun reflecting off the slow-moving clouds as it descends below the western horizon.

The shadows of night consume the light of day. The birds now cease their song as the bats begin to dine. Darting about, this way and that.

The coolness of the evening air a contrast to the heat of the day. A respite for all, ‘til the purplish glow announces the return of the sun on the eastern horizon.

Damn Ducks

Tropical Evening Descent

Sharon Leney - Dickson  Dam, AB, Canada

These ducks are waiting for the river to freeze around them so that they may take to warmer climates. The water here never freezes though due to the constant flow from the dam. This provides the perfect area for multiple species of ducks (mainly Mallards) to spend the winters here in the frigid north.

Kinner Kailash Range

Paras Negi - Kalpa, India

This is the view of Kinner Kailash Range considered sacred by both Hindu and Buddhist. Kinner Kailash is basically a monolithic pillar (Shivling in HIndu) of Lord Shiva. It is situated in the Great Himalayas, covered with snow 12 months.

Road to Tibet - A Lion's Lunch

Road to Tibet - A Lion's Lunch

Paras Negi - "Road to Tibet",  Kalpa, India -

Would you dare drive this hair-raising, nerve-racking road that connects northern India with Tibet? The rocks above the treacherous path resemble a maned and mighty lion that is ready to feast upon the little bus that travels within reach of its mighty jaws and paws. How small are we in comparison to these dark, dun and golden hued rocks that have stood the test of time. We are but a small bus, a small burr, travelling onto and into a larger and bigger realm, dodging the lion's wrath and clasp.
